So, I have a new website.
Last year, in the middle of the pandemic, I allowed my “old” website and domain to expire. And to be honest, I was struggling to find enough writing work to keep the bills paid so I started cutting costs where I could. It was just hard to justify many of my business costs when it seemed that my new “business” was homeschooling my daughter and keeping my wife (who is a nurse and was neck-deep in the frontline battle against Covid-19) healthy.
After the longest, strangest, and most frustrating year since the ancient Sumerians started tracking time, it would seem that 2021 is off to a better start. Work has picked back up a bit. I’ve got more freelance gigs and I actually have some convention appearances booked for the Fall where I’ll hopefully be able to peddle a little of my fiction. As a result of my trying to build my writing business back up, I thought it was time to reinstate my website.
However, when I attempted to get tysonhanksDOTcom back up and running, I discovered that the domain had been purchased by–get this–a ball bearing company in Hong Kong.
So, that’s why you’re currently reading this on tysonhankswrites.com.
On the blog side of this site, I plan to focus on my life as a “reader.” I’ll share thoughts on books I’m reading and collecting, and I’ll shamelessly plug the work of some of my author friends.
But, I am trying to earn a living here, too, so I’ll also provide some links to my own books, as well as my portfolio and other information pertaining to my freelance work.
This is my first blog post in well over a year, and while I have plenty I could write about, I want to keep this one short.
With that in mind, let me just say that it’s nice to be back, and I’m glad you took the time to check out my new site. I hope to see you back here often.
